The Chinese Premier 李克强 Li Keqiang is attending the WEF later this week in Davos. This is in the news because the last appearance of Li was back in 2010. The news is predicting China is attending and also looking for potential investments during this meeting. “In 2014, China's outbound FDI totaled $102.9 billion, piercing through the $100 billion mark for the first time and almost on par with inbound investment at $119.6 billion. - CNBC“ China hosts its own Summer Davos in Tianjin, check out the link and there are many interesting interviews conducted in Mandarin.

I want to talk about a few terms in Chinese that appear frequently on the news:

  • 国务院总理 - Guowuyan Zongli -  Premier
  • 中华人民共和国 - Zhonghuo Renmin Gongheguo - People's Republic of China
  • 经济- Jingji - Economics
  • 外交关系 - Waijiao Zhengce - Foreign policy/ relations
  • 房地产泡沫 - Fangdichan Paomo - Housing bubble

Hope these terms are useful and interesting to you. Thank you again for visiting!
